Being in the surgery setting, I can tell you the most altering changes are those that involve the face and fillers will definitely do it. But I've seen SO many bad ones, that's the one thing I would NEVER have done.

Face fillers can change you...and not in a good way...maybe not now but in the years to come...IF you happen to get a bad PS.

But how do you know if yours has experience, is credible, does good work? YOU MAY NEVER KNOW...
You definitely have to get word of mouth reviews..people you know, referrals, even angieslist. I know one PS who takes out 2 pages spreads for the weekend insert in the local paper. He has the BEST PR people in the business and if you just went into this blindly or "didn't want anyone to know just yet"...OMG...

But I am not out to bash Dr X. This is just a fact of life...Even the Dr.s who got D's and C's have MD after their name. There are many wonderful PS's out there as well and I know lots. Those are the ones I recommend.

For example, I had to have some ortho surgery done but of a particular kind. I was unfamiliar with the dr's doing this particular procedure but you can believe me, I asked the ortho rep's who they would go to and they gave me their honest opinion. In the end I feel I made a great decision, but unfortunately not everyone is "connected", so do as much homework as possible. They are all so expensive...elective or not...and we only have one body.
